When a crime occurs, law enforcement officials in Connecticut and other areas of the country are often anxious to provide answers to the victims as well as the community to provide some sort of peace of mind. However, criminal charges must be supported by evidence. Unfortunately, it is unclear what evidence supports the assault and other charges filed against two men.
Their arrests were in connection with an incident that allegedly happened on a day in October. According to reports, a 35-year-old man was discovered on a sidewalk at approximately 1 a.m. Reports note that the man was covered in blood and unresponsive.
The man was taken to the hospital where he is said to have been treated for injuries to his body and face that were considered serious. He spent an “extended period” of time receiving treatment at the hospital. Detectives allegedly conducted an investigation that led them to the two men since taken into custody.
The men, ages 31 and 37, now face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit assault, assault in the first degree and breach of peace. They are each being held on $250,000 bonds. Despite the charges and their arrests, many of the details regarding the victim’s injuries are unclear, including what evidence links to two men to the alleged incident as well as a potential motive. A Connecticut attorney with experience with such cases can help examine the case and determine the most appropriate course of action. Each defendant may benefit by securing separate legal counsel.
